| SEARCHING | |
| 1-How do I search for jobs? | |
(top) |
|
| 2-How do the Locations work in Job Searches? | |
|
We have tried to make searching as flexible as possible, so you can find jobs in exactly the locations you want to work. (top) |
|
| 3-What results will I get if I select a Function and an Industry on your job search page? | |
|
The logic used is "or". For example, if you choose the Advertising function
and the Aerospace industry your search will show all Advertising jobs
and all jobs within the Aerospace industry.
If you want to see just Advertising jobs, select only the Advertising
function. If you want to see just Aerospace industry jobs choose only
that industry. |
|
| 4-Why do I get jobs with no salary information when I asked for jobs with a certain salary? | |
| Many of the jobs listed with Latpro don't specify a salary,
typically because the salary is negotiable depending on the candidate's
experience. Therefore, we don't automatically exclude those jobs from your
search results. If you only want to see jobs that specify a salary range,
then you should check on the box below the salary that says "Ignore
jobs with no salary information". (top) |
|
| 5-What do the fields on the Job mean? | |
|
(top) |
|
| 6-I don't have work experience, are you going to post jobs for people like me? | |
| We have added a category for entry level positions -
please search under that, or sign up for the entry level job e-mails. (top) |
|
| 7-Do the postings that appear from past dates are still current or is there a possibility that the position has been filled already? | |
| Responsible recruiters will close their job postings
once they are filled. There may be a few days delay in this process - but
if a job you're interested in is still listed - you should go ahead and
apply. All jobs expire after 60 days, and are only refreshed with the permission
of recruiters. (top) |

| APPLYING TO A JOB | |
| 8-How do I apply for position xyz...? | |
|
To apply to jobs, you need to have a resume already saved in your LatPro account and be logged in to your account. There are two ways to respond to a job, from the site or from a joblist email: HOW TO APPLY FROM THE WEBSITE: 1. Log-in first
and make sure you have a resume in our database if you expect to apply
for any positions. HOW TO APPLY USING THE JOB CODE 1. Log-in first
and make sure you have a resume in our database if you expect to apply
for any positions. HOW TO APPLY FROM A JOBLIST E-MAIL: |
|
| 9-I don't meet all of the requirements for the job, but I'd like to be considered. Should I apply? | |
| On our application form, you can state how closely you
feel you meet the requirements of the job. It's important that you be honest
about this - if you claim to meet all requirements when you clearly do not,
the recruiter may reject your resume without giving you consideration. If
a cover letter is requested, explain why you feel you should be considered
even though you don't meet all of the requirements on paper. (top) |
|
| 10-Can you give me the recruiters fax or telephone number? | |
| Sorry, we can't do this. We make every effort to make
sure your response information is presented in the best way possible. If
a recruiter is interested in your resume they will provide contact information
and an opportunity for you to discuss the position and your qualification
in more detail. (top) |
|
| 11-Can you tell me more about this position? | |
| Sorry, all the information provided by the recruiter was
published in the job listing. To find out more about a position, send your
resume and if the recruiter contacts you, then you can ask for more information. (top) |
|
| 12-I am very interested in some of the positions in the United States, but I am not a US Citizen. Can I submit my resume to those companies? Do the Companies help the applicants, in my situation? | |
|
Please see the Work Authorization field of each job posting where one of two options is specified: You should not apply to those positions that say 'Authorization is required' if you do not have a valid US work visa. Most companies specify work authorization is required especially when
the job is based in the USA. This is the easiest, fastest route for companies
and understandable - that's business. We consider LatPro's mission to
find as many companies willing to sponsor visas as possible! Most of the
companies that sponsor visas, however, are the ones searching for technical
staff such as programmers or engineers. If you do not have legal authorization
to work in the country indicated in a listing, you should only respond
if the listing says "No special requirements, will consider sponsorship". |
|
| 13-How can I delete my previous job applications? | |
| Sorry, they cannot be deleted as they are necessary for
our record-keeping. (top) |
|
| 14-How long do postings remain on the website, and how long is it possible to apply for the positions? | |
| Job listings are posted for six weeks, unless filled earlier
Frequently recruiters will refresh/renew a listing, if it hasn't
been filled by its expiration date. (top) |
|
| 15-I'm aFree Membership - why can't I apply to more jobs? | |
| With a Free Membership we allow you use our services
for free for up to one year, including subscribing to our job lists and
posting your resume in our database, but we do limit the number of jobs
to which you may apply. If you would like to apply to additional jobs
once your free responses have been used, you are invited to purchase individual
job
responses or a membership. |

| RECRUITER/COMPANY RESPONSE | |
|
When you apply to a position your resume is sent to a recruiter's e-mail and to their LatPro "in-box". If they are interested in their resume they can decide to contact you via the information you have chosen to have visible. Even if you have chosen not to reveal any personal information (phone, name, e-mail) they can still contact you by sending an e-mail through LatPro's server to you (they never see your e-mail address). With the additional information they provide you can determine if you wish to provide your contact data. If you've elected to display your phone number or e-mail the recrutier may contact you directly this way. Once you've been put in contact LatPro does not act as an intermediary. We do not setup interviews or negotiate on either behalf. Please also be careful to investigate companies you will be interviewing with, we do personally screen every new recruiter - but there are some unscrupulous purveyors of "schemes" that present themselves fraudulently and abuse the system. Good luck, and we hope to hear your success stories! Send them to success@latpro.com. |
|
| 17-How do I know if my application has been processed? | |
|
You can always check what jobs you've applied to and confirm your application
was processed by clicking on "My Applications" within your "My
LatPro" home page. We no longer send confirmation e-mails for each
application. |
|
| 18-Why did you send me a message saying my resume was deleted, saved or didn't meet the criteria, etc? | |
| The message you have received from LatPro is based on
the action the recruiter has taken after reviewing your resume. As a service
to our members, LatPro notifies you about the action taken by the recruiter.
We cannot provide you with more detail because we are not informed of the
reasons why the recruiter made that decision. (top) |
|
| 19-I sent my resume to a recruiter, and they are asking for it again. Why? | |
| Our goal is to generate recruiter interest in you. When
there is interest, it is common for recruiters to ask for a formal version
of your resume. If this is the case, you may need to fax or e-mail a copy
of your formal resume such as a Microsoft Word document to them so that
they have either more detail and/or a more aesthetic layout. Typically this
hard copy is then presented to the hiring manager. (top) |
|
| 20-I haven't received any response from a recruiter. Is there a way to get some feedback? | |
|
We don’t have control over whether recruiters respond to you – they normally
will only respond if they are interested in your resume. They don’t generally
respond to say ‘no thank you’ due to the volume of resumes they receive. |
